  • About us

Welcome to our website. Friends of the Earth Tayside is one of ten local groups of Friends of the Earth Scotland. If you live in Dundee, Angus or Perth & Kinross we are your local group.

Friends of the Earth Scotland (FoES) is an independent Scottish charity, part of the same network as FoE England, Wales and Northern Ireland, FoE Europe and FoE International. FoE stands for environmental justice which means a decent environment for all without using more than our fair share of the world's resources. We aim to make the right to a decent environment available to everyone in Scotland and around the globe. The success and continuation of our work depends crucially on membership, donations and fundraising.

As an active member of the Friends of the Earth International network, FoES - and our members - are able to join in campaigns involving more than 70 countries throughout the world.

Nearer home, FoE Tayside campaigns on local environmental issues and sustainable development for all. So we are involved in national campaigns (environmental justice, tackling climate change, opposing new nuclear power stations and weaponry), and local ones. Our main focus is on what’s happening in Tayside (local planning decisions, waste disposal, renewable energy, clean beaches etc.)

We meet at 7.00 pm on the last Wednesday of every month except December. However, check the events page for any changes of date, time or venue.

Meetings are usually held at CRAIC (Carbon Reduction and Information Centre), 44 West Henderson Wynd, Dundee (opposite the Verdant Works and about 10 minutes walk from Dundee station).

All are welcome: you don't have to be a member to come along.
