Beachwatch beach cleanups – you can help!

Dundee-Angus Beachwatch 2015 will take place on 19-20 September

Collections organised by FoE Tayside:

  • Broughty Ferry East End (meet oppositive Barnhill Rock Garden toilets), 10.00 a.m. Saturday 19 Sept.
  • Auchmithie, nr Arbroath, 10.00 a.m. Sunday 20 Sept.

Contact Doug (see below) to find out about collections on other beaches, timed to suit you, between Friday morning and Monday evening, even if you can only spare an hour or two. Other options include Barry, Arbroath, Lunan Bay and Montrosem

Other groups are organising collections on Saturday 19 Sept, at 10 a.m., collections at Monifieith, Leuchars and East Haven.

Also on Sunday 20 Sept, collections at East Sands St Andrews (10 a.m.), Buckhaven (11 a.m.), and Arbroath West (1.30 p.m.)

These are part of the annual UK-wide Beachwatch litter survey/clean up, co-ordinated by the Marine Conservation Society

Results are fed into a national picture of beach litter around the UK, helping to identify what the most common litter items are, which can stimulate measures to tackle these at source.

Volunteers welcome to come along to a beach/beaches of their choice!
