Beachwatch beach cleanups – you can help!

Dundee-Angus Beachwatch 2017 will take place on 15-17 September

Collections organised by FoE Tayside:

  • Lunan Bay North: Friday 15th September 10am till noon, meet at beach car  park (we will be doing this with a group of volunteers from Glaxo  Smith-Kline)
  • Montrose: Friday 15th September 2pm- 4pm, meet at beach cafe
  • Broughty Ferry East End: Saturday 16th September 10am till noon, meet  opposite Rock Gardens
  • Elliot Links, Arbroath: Saturday 16th September 2pm- 4pm, meet at beach car park
  • Auchmithie: Sunday 17th September 10am till noon, meet at beach car park
  • Arbroath Victoria Park: Sunday 17th September 2pm – 4pm, meet at first  slipway on King’s Drive

We will also be doing Grassy Beach, Barry Buddon and Arbroath harbour on  an impromptu basis over the weekend.  Please let Doug know (see below) if you want to  be informed when we will be cleaning these beaches.

These are part of the annual UK-wide Beachwatch litter survey/clean up, co-ordinated by the Marine Conservation Society

Results are fed into a national picture of beach litter around the UK, helping to identify what the most common litter items are, which can stimulate measures to tackle these at source.

Volunteers welcome to come along to a beach/beaches of their choice!
